Creating a short link
The Shortener tab in your dashboard turns any long URL into a short one on the Klick.ing domain. You need two things: the destination, and a code.
Pick the code deliberately
The code is the bit after the slash. Leave it blank and you get a random one; type your own and you get klick.ing/spring instead of klick.ing/a7f2qx.
This matters more than it looks. Anywhere the link will be read aloud, typed by hand, or printed, a readable code is the difference between people arriving and people giving up. Codes have to be unique across Klick.ing, so good short ones go early.
Give it a title
The title is internal, for you. Three months and forty links later, a list of codes with no titles is unreadable. Name it after where it's going to be used, not where it points, since that's the question you'll actually be asking.
Tags
Tags group links that belong to the same campaign, client, or print run. They're worth using from the start, because the moment you have enough links to need tags is the moment tagging them retroactively becomes a chore.
