Wallpapers and backgrounds

Behind the card that holds your links sits the background. It can be a flat colour, a gradient, or an image you upload. The wallpaper fits itself to the screen automatically, sized from the width on desktop and the height on mobile, so you don't have to prepare two versions.

Picking one that works

The most common mistake is choosing a wallpaper that looks great on its own and makes the page unreadable. Your background's job is to sit behind text, so:

• Busy in the middle is bad. Detail behind your name and buttons fights with them. Photos with a calm centre work far better than a dense pattern.
• Check it on a phone. Most of your visitors are on one, and a wide photo is cropped hard on a narrow screen. What matters is what survives that crop.
• Watch the file size. A very large photo delays the whole page on mobile data. Images are compressed on upload, but starting from something reasonable still helps.

If the page feels cluttered once a wallpaper is on, turn the card panel on from Colors, fonts, and panels. A solid panel behind your links restores contrast instantly and is usually a better fix than swapping the image.
